Codex
- Best for
- A fast solo start, first prototypes, and low setup overhead.
- Less ideal when
- You almost immediately need a shared team layer.
- Choose this if
- You want to build as quickly as possible without a heavy tool decision.
Use this route when you are starting alone or with only one extra maker and mainly want to know the fastest first choice. In most cases Codex is the best first step, unless you already work strongly editor-first or know you want shared team context very soon.
For most solo founders: start with Codex and Starter. Choose Cursor only if you already work editor-first. Choose Claude Code only if you expect shared team use very soon.
